Our Modern-Resort Home

This is our House blog. It takes you into our journey from the point of hacking to completion. And finally we moving in and enjoying our house.

Saturday, April 14, 2007

It has been around 2 weeks since we moved in on the 29th March 2007. According to grandma, it was an auspicious day to move house. We've kinda adapted to the new change/environment in our lives, especially our lovely daughter. She simply just loves it. Here are some more pixs after we've settled in.

This is the master toilet. We've used warm light to bring out the coziness and the resort-feel. The only one word that I could say about the rain shower is FANTASTIC! It was worth investing after all.

Another side of the toilet view.

Our common toilet that is more of a "modern" look.

Another view of it.

Our kitchen... with the solid worktop and glass backing up.

Our Mitsubishi refrigerator and Toshiba 7.5kg washing machine right at the corner of the kitchen.

Our living room feature wall with our 32" Toshiba TV. Hubby's toy (Xbox) not fix up yet...

Our Picket and Rail Ritz Platform bed.

Picket and Rail dresser. The cabinet on the side of the mirror has lights inside.

Ritual and more Pictures

Ritual Offering
As part of ushering in good health, wealth and all the other good stuffs; as well as "cleaning" the house, we would place a small offering to the house before we move in.

We placed 4 pears, rice with salt and "Huat Kueh" in the centre of the house.

Rice and salt were sprinkled at all the corners of the house.

Our Bi-fold door

Day Bed

We went to Widharja and got ourselves a day bed. We thought it would be something different, instead of the norm, standard couch or sofa.
It should match what we wanted for the house, a Modern-Resort theme.

Curtains

We have ordered our curtains from Alex, New Style Enterprise. He was recommended by a relative. The whole process in selection was pretty fast cause we roughly knew what we want. The materials we chose was the "in thing" (as claimed by Alex, hehe), and we had it on the rooms and living area, only different color. Below are the pixs taken using my handphone. The actual "thing" is definitely nicer.

This will become our curtains for the Living room (Beige Colour)

This will become our curtain for all the bedrooms (Dark Brown Colour)

Feature Walls, Doors and Door Frames

Here are some of our additional colour walls/doors freshly painted.
The colours might not look like what it is from the picture. Will try to post more when the paint is dry and with all the lightings in.

The colour for the Doors and Door Frames, we have selected Honeycomb from Dulux.

For the feature wall in the Living room we have selected Bracken Sand (Dulux -22220)

For the feature wall in the Master Bedroom we have selected Champagne (Dulux-22801)
Both colours looks quite similar in these pictures, I think it's due to the flash from the camera. I garantee you that the colours are different.
